Folly Hill, with its dappled tapestry of trees, shrubs, picnic places and wonderful vistas, is a haven for all the local wildlife – including human.
We see sledging on the slopes in winter; dog walking through the daffodils in spring; lazy lunches under the leafy canopy in summer and kicking through carpets of colours in the autumn. There are also many events throughout the year, such as Combat Croquet; Horrible Halloween; Pie Plunking; Easter Sunrise Service; Sealed Knot re-enactments; May Day Madrigals… Many individuals and groups book a private visit to the tower. There have been parties, marriage proposals, anniversaries, birthdays, music and brownie promises. |
